Girls Talk Game
Girls Talk Game is a mentorship initiative founded by Asia Cymone Smith to empower high school and college women pursuing careers in sports broadcasting. With women making up only around 20% of professionals in the field, there’s still a long way to go toward equal representation. Through personalized mentorship, hands-on workshops, and real-world guidance, Girls Talk Game helps young women build confidence, develop industry skills, and take up space in a field where their voices deserve to be heard.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signs proclamation to recognize
Women in Sports Broadcasting Day!
Pioneered by Asia Cymone Smith, Kansas now officially recognizes August 18, 2025, as Women in Sports Broadcasting Day. This day honors the achievements of women in sports media and highlights the ongoing need for greater representation and equity. With women holding just 38% of sports broadcasting roles in Kansas and continuing pay disparities, this observance encourages support for women’s voices in sports journalism and celebrates their vital impact on the industry.
